FAQ · /faq/

Straight answers.

Real faces, multiplied raises fair questions. Here are the answers, in plain language.

Is Spencer Models a legitimate modeling agency?

Yes. Spencer Models & Management, Inc. is a Houston based modeling agency that represents real, licensed human models. Models never pay to join. The agency earns commission only when its models earn, and every AI use of a model’s look is governed by a signed licensing contract with royalties paid to the model first.

Where is Spencer Models located?

Spencer Models is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with active talent markets in Miami and Los Angeles. Models from all three markets are prioritized, and founding sessions are scheduled in the model’s home market. Brands can license content from anywhere; licensing is handled remotely and content ships digitally.

What is an AI-augmented modeling agency?

An AI-augmented modeling agency licenses the look of real human models and uses AI to scale that look across brand campaigns. At Spencer Models, a model shoots one founding session. AI then multiplies that session into campaign content, and the model earns royalties on every licensed use. Real faces, multiplied. The industry calls these consent-built likenesses digital twins; New York law calls them digital replicas.

Does Spencer Models use fake, AI-invented people?

No. Every face on the Spencer Models board starts with a real, contracted human model. The agency does not create or license fully synthetic faces. AI is used to scale a real model’s founding shoot across campaigns, never to replace the person behind it.

Do AI models take jobs away from real models?

Spencer Models does not replace models. It multiplies them. AI is already changing modeling work across the industry, with or without Spencer Models. The real question is whether the humans whose looks power AI content get paid. At Spencer Models they do. Every AI image is licensed from a real model who earns royalties on every campaign, paid first off the top.

Does Spencer Models charge models any fees?

No. Spencer Models never charges signing fees, registration fees, portfolio fees, or mandatory classes. Models pay nothing to be represented. Our scouts never ask for payment, and any outreach can be verified at [email protected]. The agency makes money only through commissions and licensing splits on income the model actually earns. Any agency that charges talent upfront to be represented is a red flag.

How do models get paid when AI uses their look?

Models earn a contracted share of every licensing deal that uses their likeness. Each deal identifies the brand, the use, the media, the term, and the fee, and the model approves it in writing before anything ships. Royalties are paid first off the top, with itemized statements and audit rights.

Can a model control how their AI likeness is used?

Yes. Nothing ships without the model’s written approval of each deal. Spencer Models contracts also hard-code prohibited categories, including explicit content, political advocacy, tobacco, and deceptive formats designed to pass as real footage. Those bans apply to every deal, regardless of what a brand offers.

Can my face end up in content I never approved?

No. Every use of a model’s likeness requires written approval of the specific deal before anything ships. Prohibited categories, including explicit content, political advocacy, and deceptive formats designed to pass as real footage, are hard-coded into every contract and cannot be waived by any brand offer. Unauthorized use is a contract breach the agency is obligated to pursue.

Who owns a model’s face and likeness?

The model does, always. Spencer Models holds only a limited license during the contract term. When a model leaves, the agency stops new licensing, existing campaigns wind down on a fixed schedule, and the model’s training data and biometric records are destroyed, with written certification available on request.

Is AI involvement disclosed?

Yes. Spencer Models discloses AI involvement in AI-augmented content and builds disclosure requirements into its brand licensing agreements, consistent with FTC endorsement guidance and platform labeling policies. Brands always know exactly what they are licensing, and audiences are not misled about what they are seeing.

How much does it cost to license model content?

Brand licensing starts at $1,500 per month, priced by usage, channels, and reach. Organic social, paid media, web, and out-of-home carry different rates, and every license states the model, the use, and the term in writing. Request a rate card through the For Brands page for exact pricing.

Is it legal for brands to use AI model content in advertising?

Yes, when the likeness is properly licensed and the AI involvement is disclosed. Spencer Models content is licensed directly from the real model it is built on, with written consent, defined usage terms, and disclosure requirements built into every brand agreement, consistent with FTC endorsement guidance, platform labeling policies, and the consent standards of New York’s Fashion Workers Act.

What does the Augmented board mean?

The Augmented board features real, licensed models whose look is scaled with AI for volume content. Every Augmented face starts with a real person and a founding session; AI multiplies that session across campaigns. Augmented is a production method, not a different kind of model, and AI involvement is disclosed on every placement.

What is an AI-augmented influencer persona?

An AI-augmented influencer persona is a creator identity fronted by one real person and scaled with AI. At Spencer Models, one woman co-creates the persona: her look and voice anchor it, AI multiplies her presence, and she shares in what it earns. AI involvement is disclosed, and nothing launches without her sign-off. One seat exists; see Become an Influencer.

How is Spencer Models different from a traditional modeling agency?

A traditional agency earns when a model physically works a booking. Spencer Models books real work too, and adds a second income stream: after one founding shoot, a model’s look keeps earning through licensed AI campaigns. Fewer call times, an added royalty stream, and the model approves every use.

Does Spencer Models sign traditional models who do not want AI work?

Yes. Spencer Models represents traditional models for runway, fashion, commercial, print, and promotional work with no AI involvement required. AI augmentation is an opt-in program, not a condition of representation. Models who want it add a licensing income stream; models who do not simply book traditional work. Nothing about a model’s look is AI scaled without a separately signed license.

What are the requirements to apply to Spencer Models?
